WATER BAPTISM is an important step that God requires in obedience to His plan for salvation. Not only do we follow Jesus’ own example by being baptized, but we also follow his command. When we’re baptized, several powerful things happen… 1) Our sins are washed away (Acts 2:38), 2) we follow his burial by being “buried” in water (Colossians 2:12), 3) our conscience is cleaned from past guilt (1 Peter 3:21), 4) we take upon ourselves the only saving name of Jesus (Galatians 3:27), and 5) we commit ourselves to Christ and his Church (Acts 2:41-42).
